| Biography:
As with most of us I joined Sydney straight out of Leeuwin, from there
to Cerberus for EM training. On completion of this training back to
the Sydney, until it was time to go to pick up the Skyhawk’s from the US
and someone at Navy office decided he wanted to go, but, he did give me a
good posting to Coonawarra. Claim to fame at Coonawarra was when
driving the fire truck to a fire at the transmitting station with the
siren blaring, was passed by a road train on the highway, I quickly turned
off the siren with embarrassment. Then back to Cerberus from hot
Darwin in the middle of winter to show sex education movies to the
WRANS. From Cerberus to Torrens (good ship) for a couple of years
for a trip up top and refit in Williamstown. Met my wife, Marilyn,
in Melbourne and got married in December ’75. We have 6 children,4
boys and 2 girls...Daniel 24, Renee 22, Damien 19, Luke 16, Erin 15 and
Liam 12 so as you can see I'll be working for a while yet. Torrens to the nations capital Harman (Navy Office)
creating planned maintenance documentation. Finally back to Torrens for my
last 6 months, tried to sign on but request was denied.
On leaving the
RAN I have worked for IBM in Canberra, Sydney and now in Melbourne, having
been with them for 24 years and I am a Mainframe Hardware Support Engineer
working
mostly from home (LARA near Geelong) if ever anyone is down this way give
me a call always have some spare time and accommodation.
