Pretty ordinary Naval Career,
much the same as everyone else. Took the option to get out early as the
branch was changed, promotion stopped (someone had to die or discharge) for
us to advance up the ladder so decided to get out and do something else with
life.

Biography:
|
Still married to my gorgeous wife Vicky (34 years) and have
two sons, one is married and given us two lovely grandsons,
the other is still building a great career for himself.
Decided to go back to TAFE and University when I got out,
did all the courses, did lots of sea time and eventually got
my Master's Certificate
and then my Engineer's Certificate. So now I get to sit on
the starboard side and try to look like I know what I'm
doing. No longer doing that much
time away at sea, now mostly local stuff 4 or 5 days a week.
For the last 9 years I have been teaching all the subjects
at TAFE for Certificates of Competency, Radio Invigilator
for the Maritime College in Tasmania. I also teach Sea
Survival at Qantas in Sydney and Marine Fire Fighting, also
in Sydney. I guess I have been in the industry for so long,
they think I know all about it. However this is all
changing as I am giving away the teaching at the end of this
month.
So, I have been busy, still wearing a uniform, still have
the hair cut regularly... oh dear... how dull is that.... |
