Biography:
Along with many others, I ‘resigned’ from the RAN when Gough
came into the PM’s position and decided to reduce armed
forces numbers. I joined Rank Xerox as a photocopier
technician and stayed there for 8,1/2 yrs going through the
ranks into management. Left Xerox and went to Wang Computer
staying for 10,1/2 yrs. Finally got retrenched and after 8
months out of work went to work for AWA Defence Industries.
That lasted only 18 months or so when they closed down the
Electronic Services Division. Went to work for AMTEC
Avionics which was created from the remnants of one of the
AWA arms. AMTEC went belly up in 2001 (not long after I
divorced – could be a message there?) so I went to work at
the same company as my new partner doing data communications
and other electrical construction work. Now working for
Pacific Avionics at Bankstown Airport as Sales and Quality
Assurance Manager.
Have a daughter (Kristie) now 31 and married and has given
us a grand daughter (Grace) aged 16 months. Also have a son
(Jacob) now 27 still living with his mother. Jay was
working in hair dressing but has now switched to working as
a Veterinary nurse/assistant.
My partner Jen and I have known each other for some 29 or so
years and have been together since the divorce. Looking
forward to slowing down in the latter years but no sign as
yet. Still drinking too much, smoking and generally being
too young for the years. Enjoy hitting the golf ball as my
only sporting activity. |
